The Day in the Life of a College Student

Its Saturday. I day for fun, right? Wrong. I have three papers and various other homework due next week that I get to spend a lovely day indoors for. How do I have time to blog, you ask? Easy, this is my break between papers one and two. So I'm sorry it won't be a long entry but I have little choice but to get back to the grindstone. Why do people say that anyway? "Put your nose to the grindstone" when they mean to get to work? It sounds like a painful process, one that I don't relish trying anytime soon. But I guess it works in this case because homework can be painful, especially when its a beautiful day outside and I'm stuck indoors.
In all actuality, if I didn't have homework to be doing, I would probably be curled up on the couch reading, which still wouldn't get me outside, but there's just something about a good book that makes me not mind being indoors.

Maybe I should explain the links off to the side. FanFiction.net is a wonderful site for those aspiring writers. For most TV shows, movies, or books a page can be found where fans have taken the characters and placed them in situations and relationships as they wish. I used to write on here when I had the time, but I haven't been able to post recently. My sudoname is ShakespeareLover01 if you care to see what I wrote.
eHarliquin.com is another fun site for people who enjoy reading romance novels. The site has a section where you can read special online stories written by your favorite authors. I especially love historical romances.
I guess my little break is over for now. Bye guys.

What the Title Means

Hello gentle readers, I have never written a blog before so bear with me. I guess the first order of business is to explain where the title came from. I was thinking about a song I had just finished listening to in the car: "Forward Motion" by Relient K and the chorus goes something like this:
"...'cause I struggle with forward motion
I stuggle with forward motion
we all struggle with forward motion
'cause forward motion is harder than it sounds
everytime I gain some ground
I gotta turn myself around again..."

For the complete lyrics see the following website http://display.lyrics.astraweb.com:2000/display.cgi?relient_k%2E%2Etwo_lefts_dont_make_a_rightbut_three%2E%2Eforward_motion.

I'm sure that everyone has felt this way at some point or another in his or her life. I have found that college makes me feel as if I am struggling to keep up with everything all the time, especially when it gets closer to the end of the semester and teachers start to pile on the assignments. Just when you think you have everything caught up and figured out, life throws you a curve ball and things don't make sense anymore.

Another cool song related to college that Relient K is "College Kids" which is about how useless college really is.

My favorite line is "80 grand later I found out that all that I had learned / is that you should show up to take your finals and your mid-terms..." I wish that was all that I had to do, but I am an English major and that means I have a multitude of writing assignments to complete each semester.
